Rebel Shade Combs and his family was from Clayhole, which is not included on this map, but it was and still is located between Jackson and Hazard, which are on the map. You can see that the North Fork of the Kentucky River runs between these towns, and if you go to the “R” in Fork on the map, you can see where Troublesome Creek runs into the North Fork. Clayhole is approximately three miles east on Troublesome Creek. Now you know where Clayhole, Kentucky is.
