I am nearly done with your very fine new book. My great great grandfather served in 1863-1864 in a Union Kentucky Mounted infantry regiment (45th Kentucky) in the actions you describe at Mt. Sterling, Cynthiana, Saltville late in your book. Thank you for researching and portraying the struggles and drama of this corner of the Civil War. The battles may have been smaller in scope, but the intensity of struggle that intimately split familie–at times for generations–is heartrending. Thank you for your work.
